Application
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slack (Melbourne) in Jan 2022
Interview
Process was very well organised at first. I received a call from a recruiter who arranged an interview with the department head. Interview went well and I was successfully through to the next round. Went through 2 more rounds until a fourth round, which was a presentation. Prepared for 5-6 hours. It wasn't until this round that the direct hiring manager was on the call - I could tell they had not been included in the process up until this point, and I was immediately on the back foot.
I was told afterwards, in very brief feedback from recruiter, that I had not properly demonstrated how I would train enterprise clients. I was not successful, and tried to follow up with hiring manager but got no response.
Fair enough that I didn't get an offer, but even more annoyingly I was not given any follow-up feedback to improve for future opportunities with other companies. I would not recommend devoting too much time preparing for interviews at Slack, as in my experience, they do not seem to value the time of their candidates.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you prepare for cultural differences when training?
How would your past experiences prepare you to train enterprise clients?
Creative way to approach candidates per email by the head-hunrers. Later there was some mixture between personal approach, system automation and notifications (that need updating) and non personal follow up. Questions being asked and the answers by the head recruiter were very standard and too restrictive.
