I should have known what was to come by other reviews on this site. The other person hit it spot on with the references and they called them before bringing me in! I too, applied online to receive a phone call the same day to schedule an interview for the 2015-2016 school year. I went into their office only to be presented with a "thanks for coming in, but the position is really part time. I posted it as full to get good applicants." What was listed as a 37.5 hour work week, magically dropped to 2 hours 5 days per week. If this was said to me on the phone I would not have driven in, taken the time off from my current position and moved on. I do not recommend this system to anyone due to the process.
- Is working a two hour shift acceptable?

I applied through their online application system. 3 professional letters of ref. were required or they won't consider you. I was called in for an interview in their dept. office only to be presented with a bait and switch. The position was listed as Mon-Fri 7:30-4:30, full time full benefits. When I got there it magically dropped to 15 hours/week- no benefits with no hope of moving to full time. This was NOT explained on the phone. I'm pretty disappointed with this process as I really loved the city and location.
- Will you accept Part-time work instead?

The principal called me after I applied for a job using the School Spring website. We agreed on a time, she was flexible. The previous teacher had left a bad impression of what an ESL teacher can do in an inclusion setting. Many of the questions were geared towards what exactly I could do to increase students' proficiency while still making gains in core subjects. She also was wanted to make sure I understood the laws that drive ESL, the testing, and federal compliance. Four years later I can say I still love my boss and I know she truly cares about the students.
- What strategies or interventions would you use to deal with behavior issues?
