Interviews for Top Jobs at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort
The interviewer asked pretty generic interview questions (eg. tell us about yourself, why are you a good candidate for this role, etc.). The main thing I noticed from interviewing with the HR rep was how unprofessional her behavior was. At many points during the interview, it seemed as though she wasn’t taking me seriously and went so far as to laugh at me. Not sure what inspired that kind of behavior, but it that was their culture then I would never want to work there.
- Tell us about yourself

The interview process took about three weeks. It started with an in-person interview and then a phone interview to follow up. They were accommodating I was interviewed with several other applicants, all the staff was very friendly; they all wanted to hear about you as a person, not just your qualifications.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort (Stratton Mountain, VT) in May 2015
Online application, followed by a request from HR to set up an in person or telephone screening interview. After that step, I interviewed with the hiring manager for a one-on-one, face to face. The first screening interview was to see if I was a good fit for the company, and I asked questions to make sure that the company was a good fit for me.

From start to finish, the whole process only took a few days. I was contacted by the hiring manager - did a phone interview, and then passed on to the store manager and retail manager who really just wanted to gauge my interest and enthusiasm for a sport/job that I had little experience in.
- What type of people do you like working with?

Anonymous Employee in Rutland, VT
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort (Rutland, VT) in Sep 2013
Applied online and got a phone call from HR within the hour. Scheduled an interview and when I went up we walked around the mountain talking about the job. By the time I left I basically knew I got the job.
- Have you ever filmed/edited videos?

Anonymous Employee
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort in Dec 2009
As a teenager, you have to go through a program called Teen Instructor Program at Stratton. Otherwise, you just submit an application. Sometimes they have you meet with one of the people who run the Ski School to explain how it works. They might take you out for a training session, which is how they see how good of a skier or rider you are.
- There are no difficult questions.
