Interview
About a month after applying, I received an email asking to set up a phone interview and to fill out an online assessment. The assessment had questions such as "if you were asked to test a new model of fridge, what would you test?" and presenting an image of a webpage failing to connect and asking me to describe the steps I'd take to troubleshoot it. The phone interview was fairly standard, asking me what I think I'd be doing in the position, how I've dealt with a situation where I've been given work and have no idea how to do it, etc. Next was an in-person interview, conducted by two employees, as well as someone from the San Diego location calling in. The questions were pretty much all related to how I'd approach testing in different scenarios, and I felt like they were unsatisfied with all my answers. They kept prompting me to elaborate and rephrased parts of the questions, but I got an offer anyway.

Question 1
If you were testing an email service, how would you verify that an email was sent? Now suppose someone else tried testing the send function right after you. Why might they run into issues/inconsistencies that you didn't?
