I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Target (Nashville, TN) in Apr 2009
Interview
They opened a new Target and interviewed about 60 people in a few days and most were hired. We answered some simple questions and did a drug screen. Most people who were there were either high school students or in college. Our interviewer was also very young. But they expected a fairly high turnover rate as people went back to school and needed people temporarily to move boxes and stock the store since they have just opened. It was just a matter of getting to the interview, you were almost guaranteed to be hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me something you did to resolve a difficult situation with a customer. There were some others, but as long as you passed the drug screen, you were hired.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
It was interesting. Not hard at all, straightforward, and pretty open people. It was an okay interview and what you’d typically expect. So don’t stress stress it, I mean kinda try your best
