      Cashier Interview

      Apr 1, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      San Jose, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Target (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2011

      Interview

The interview process was easy, you first apply online and you can choose up to 3 stores you'd like to work in. Even if the stores say that they arn't hiring, they usually are. The store that called me said they weren't hiring online, but they actually were hiring alot of people. I waited about 3 days then I got called for an interview. I came in and the first thing I had to do was sign in and then take a written test (multi-choice, and about 5 questions) To be honest, I don't think anyone actually looked at my answers, I thinbk they just stuck it in my folder. Anyways. The next part is the first of 2 interviews. The first interview was with a supervisor for one of the depoartments, and she just asked me a few questions off a list. Such as "why do want to work here?" "Tell me about a time when you worked as a team" , and then alot of questions about my availiablity and went over my application with me to make sure it was correct. After that I went back to the lobby and waited for one of the Store Managers to interview me. She pretty much asked me the same questions as the first girl, just worded differently. After that she took some notes and asked me to wait again in the lobby. Finally aboot 10 minutes lator one of the HR girls took me into a room an offered me a job. The same day I had to go in for a drug test , and then 2 days lator they called to give me a start date.

I answered 5 recorded interview questions and 1 Q&A. You get 2-3 mins to answer the 5 questions, and the Q&A has no time limit, it was surprisingly easy to prepare myself for.
