I applied online. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services (Calcutta) in Dec 2018
Interview
I applied for TCS Off-Campus Recruitment during November, 2018. I appeared on the Online Test and got selected for the interview process at TCS, Kolkata.
The difficulity level of the online test was moderate. Anyone who prepared a little can easily clear the test. The test consists of four parts. First was Quantitative Aptitude which comprised of questions on Averages, Time and Distance, Time and Work, Percentages, Ratios, Number System etc. I felt all the problems were easy to do as I had already studied them a little. The Second section was Programming Language Efficiency. Here the questions are MCQs that were based on basic programming concepts. I was able to solve a few of them. Third section was English. There were some fill in the blanks which was easy . Last Round was Coding. I had to write a program on c/java/ pyhon etc. The coding problem was write a program to check whether a given number is even or odd, if even square it else find it's cube.
After few days of the online test i got a mail for the interview at TCS Kolkata. There were just too many candidates. It was just like a bazzar. They told us to reach the venue by 10 am, but made us wait outside the gate on sun till 11.30. After going inside first was document verification and later was the interview. First I was asked to introduce myself. Then they asked about my projects and some basic questions on c and SQL.

After clearing the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), I attended a single interview round that combined technical and HR questions. The interviewer focused on my projects, programming knowledge, and understanding of current technologies. One of the main discussion topics was the difference between traditional software systems and AI-based systems. The interview was conversational, and the interviewer evaluated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and technical understanding. The overall experience was positive and the difficulty level was average.
