I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services (Bengaluru) in Apr 2008
Interview
Starts out with an aptitude test ( for college recruitment only). Shorlisted candidates are then asked to give their technical interview, in which all kinds of technical questions are asked, based on the candidate's specialization.
From here, selected candidates are sent to the Management round, where they are tested to see how effectively they handle high pressure situations or respond to criticism. A thick hide and a quick mind will get you through this.
Finally is the HR round, where you are briefed about the company policies, and you may have a GD at this part. This is just to ascertain your ease of communication.

After clearing the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), I attended a single interview round that combined technical and HR questions. The interviewer focused on my projects, programming knowledge, and understanding of current technologies. One of the main discussion topics was the difference between traditional software systems and AI-based systems. The interview was conversational, and the interviewer evaluated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and technical understanding. The overall experience was positive and the difficulty level was average.
