I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Dec 2015
Interview
One HR interview followed by a short knowledge test and 2 technical interviews. Overall took just over a month. Everyone I interviewed with was knowledgable, passionate, and interested.
The HR rep I spoke to was extremely helpful, looking for candidates with experience and working knowledge. The technical interviews were with engineers who were trying to ascertain how the applicants think, not necessarily the skill level they currently have.
It's obvious those conducting the interviews are looking for teammates and people willing to learn on the fly, not drones. Awesome experience.

Tell us about a project at your former internship you had responsibility for.
Invited me to an interview then ghosted me after I gave availability. They never scheduled the interview. When I followed up, the recruiter didn’t responded to my email. Not sure what happened
My interview was scheduled for about five days after the initial email from my recruiter. It was two 30 minute interviews with members of the prospective team. Standard questions were asked about me, my experiences, and why I think I am a good fit for the role.

How do you respond when members of your team tell you they don’t have time for you?
1 technical interview followed by a recruiter call if you get the offer. The process was very fast and very simple. Highly recommend applying. The technical interview was amazing, and the interviewer was very understanding if i did not get the answer.
