The Appraiser's Choice interview questions

I was friends with the former owner and they had just landed a big client and needed help in shipping an building computers. This was in the early 90's. I had done a little work on my own computer but had never built one from scratch but it seemed easy enough. After almost a year they noticed that I could explain the setup process (of both the modem installation and communications software pretty well) and offered me a position in Technical Support. My time was spend supporting our DOS version of the software and we did not support it running through Windows (Win3.1 was the newest version at the time). After a couple years in Support I asked to move into Programming. Everything about each of the jobs was really pretty good for about the first 10 years or so of my employment with the company. The company was located in Michigan at the time and there were not a lot of other good paying (at the time) or technical options in the area either. My hiring and interview process was no where near normal.
