Interview was with one of the principals of the office. It started off well, we got to know each other and discussed industry and some conceptual aspects of engineering. I was told a decision would be made in the following weeks.
Three weeks pass by and I send a follow up message, only to be told a decision has not been made yet and that they would get back to me. It has been over a month and a half and I still have not heard anything.
Now the principal was a nice person although I don't understand why (if they did not want to hire me) they couldn't just let me know that they are going to move along without me in the process.
It's quite heartbreaking and unprofessional that they did this, given the fact that this was my top choice. In addition, I did not know what to do with the other offers I had. There was no need for them to make an excuse every follow up email. I understand that more time is needed but almost 8 weeks and no notice is a lot.
Finally, they never asked any behavior questions like what my strengths weaknesses or what classes I have taken. It was one of the most unusual interviews I have done.
