I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers (Redhill, South East England, England) in Nov 2015
Interview
In November, I sent a CV and covering letter through their online application form. I received an email inviting me to the assessment day a week later. The assessment center was two weeks after that in Redhill, Surrey. (note: I was told that the following format is very similar to the London office.)
I was one of six people at the assessment center. The day started at 10am. The environment was very relaxed and friendly, with a wonderfully awkward icebreaker about ourselves and why we applied for the job -- the sort that makes you worry so much about what you want to say that you ignore what everyone else says.
After a moderately-challenging group case study on 'cat' (catastrophe) models in the context of a natural disaster and insurance, we presented to a manager and had lunch with previous graduates plus the current placement student. Then, around 1.30pm, we split up and had our 1:1 interviews with 6 separate managers (at the same time). After an hour or so of interviewing, we were left together in a seating area and collected by the recruiter who supervised us during our group task. They scanned our passports and fortunately sent us home the very same day (Wednesday) before 3pm. They contacted us by that Friday and the successful candidates had a second interview on the Monday.
The whole experience was very positive and they offered feedback to the unsuccessful candidates, even without prompting. Great experience. But prepare for it.
