I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Two Sigma in Feb 2010
Interview
I got a phone interview from a campus career fair. I specifically told them I wanted to apply for the internship and the lady told me that it was better to apply for a full time position. So they called me for my interview and the guy on the other end was not very enthusiastic and I felt very intimidated. I was asked to describe how I would do a program over the phone and was caught very off guard. I had no idea where to start. Not a very good experience I knew it was all downhill from there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you write a program to count the number of words in the sentence?
It was a fairly standard technical interview focused mainly on graph algorithms and problem-solving. Questions tested understanding of traversal, connectivity, and edge cases. Overall, clear communication and logical reasoning were key.

Phone screen then 75 min take home coding test that wasn’t too difficult but didn’t do to well because I didn’t have much experience programming. Cs majors should be ok with good preparation.

Interview
IT helps to set up, spent about 30 minutes speaking individually with 3 different employees on mostly a get to know you basis. Some technical questions were asked but mostly the process was focused on understanding how you think.
