I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at UPMC (Pittsburgh, PA) in Apr 2018
Interview
I submitted my job applications online for three different nursing positions at different UPMC facilities. Human resource employees from each of the facilities contacted me about one business day later. At one hospital, for a bedside nursing job, I interviewed with a nursing director in-person once, and he asked me a list of questions from human resources, and then I met some of the other employees on the unit. At another hospital, for another bedside nursing job, I interviewed with a nursing director one time in her office. She started the interview by telling me about the unit, allowing me to ask questions, and then asking me questions from human resources. She gave me a brief tour of her unit. My third interview was for a research position. I interviewed with three managers simultaneously for different research jobs. The interview lasted about 35 minutes. They told me information about their different centers and the type of work. The interviewers allowed me to ask them questions. Then they asked me a list of questions from human resources.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had a difficult encounter with a coworker?
Friendly! The interviewers strive to make the experience comfortable while obtaining relevant information and explaining the job requirements. They want to make sure the company is a good fit for you and that you are a good fit for the area you will work in.
It was a standard interview with all the expected questions as well as a few fun curveballs that were not taken too seriously. I was given the option to shadow and tour the unit afterward.
