I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Feb 2016
Interview
Group problem solving/business skills segment involved working with other applicants to perform an activity that you didn't have time for. It seemed like a place to show how you lead/follow and how you handle pressure. 1-on-1 one technical assessment was VERY basic Java stuff. Most of the "interview" was USAA pitching their business and giving a tour of the massive main building.
There were two interviewers and they were frantically writing notes as I answered their questions. Most were behavioral questions like "Tell us a time where you had to (show __ quality, or handle ___ situation)". The question below was the only technical question. The interview took 1 hour overall. I was told I am going to the next round of interviews, but I already have a job offer elsewhere and don't think I will be waiting around for USAA for relocation and time restriction reasons.
