      Interview

The process took about 3 months. I applied through LinkedIn in the beginning of February. 3 weeks after I received an email from the EMEA recruiting office inviting me for a call. 1st call: Just a simple screening with the questions, why uber, why do you wan't to live your job, etc. Very simple, performed by the EMEA recruiter assistant. After this I was invited to do an analytics test. Analytics test: Essentially this test is designed to give a sense of your experience managing raw data, as well as your basic instinct for numbers. Below are some important things to remember when completing this exercise: The test is timed (2 hours), and will begin as soon as you clink on the link and enter your information so pay attention to the two hour time limit and make sure that you start this when you know you'll be interruption free for the full two hours. Really. Since you're doing analysis and downloading raw data, make sure you're at a computer that handles Excel/CSV files well. You MUST hit submit before the two hours is up so the test will have a record of your answers. I STRONGLY recommend you to invest in your preparation if you really want to work for Uber. The preparation of this test is on the internet and cheapest you can get is by 5$ in goo.gl/w19Lms. This is where most candidates fail (more than 90%) but with the preparation it is easy. 2/3 days after I received an email saying I passed and asking my availability for a new call. 2nd call: Fit screening with an element of the team of the country you are applying to. Questions about your cv and what you did and a little bit of sharing by the interviewer. Very Simple. After that I received a new email inviting me to Uber's office. Panel interview: 4 interviews of one-hour each. Case-based interview. Final step. 1st interview with an Ops manager: Easy-type questions like: you need 3 days to put 100 cars more working in the city. What to do? Good things about Uber green, etc. 2nd interview with a Sr. Ops manager: Hard questions like: we want to go to Africa - in 2 mins tell me what will be our first city. If you had a day to search what would you do. What would be the average cost per trip for the user? 3rd interview with a GM: nice interview about uber pool. Felt it went good but I was advised that the GM was very competitive. Some number questions about uber pool like "why is it better for us?" 4th interview with a regional manager: hard interview about why I wanted Uber, what would I do to make people feel that Uber was important and cared about the country, what would I do with the drivers, etc. After 3 weeks I went back after some feedback and was told they decided to go with someone more experienced and a with a different structure.

      Question 1

Imagine you had to take the decision of entering in the African continent. How would you take the decision? Which should be your first country?

      Interview

Interview process was typical. Asking leadership, teamwork, and case questions to see how well you problem solve on the spot. The interview process was 3-4 steps, the last being a round robbin with many of the similar roles.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (New York, NY) in Jun 2018

      Interview

I applied to Uber on their careers website. It took about a month for a recruiter to reach out to start the process. The process consisted of a phone screen with a recruiter, a skills test, a video conference with someone from the hiring team, and an in person round. I did not make it past the video conference stage. The phone screen was pretty standard. The skills test was timed (2 hours) assessing excel skills using mock data related to the Uber business and critical/strategic thinking skills based on data and general knowledge of Uber's business. The video conference contained questions regarding past data experience and Uber business-specific questions. I found it odd that candidates needed to know so much about Uber's business practices going into interviews, especially in areas that are not public knowledge. The process was pretty quick after the initial contact from the recruiter (2 weeks).
