      Customer Service Manager Interview

      Jan 5, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Uline in Dec 2011

      Interview

The interview was set up by the recruiter and started with a phone interview to verify information and ask a few basic questions. Formal interview took place 1 week later and included 4 assessments/exercises to complete prior to the interview as well as 2 forms which from a legal perspective are not allowed in Canada. One of the forms asked for your date of birth which cannot be asked prior to the offer of employment. Interview was standard HR type of interview. Nothing difficult to answer but was very put off by the filling of the forms. Was tempted to not fill them out and see what the response would be. Also, prior to the formal interview, was taken into the middle of their call centre and asked to do 2 timed exercises. Overall not impressed with the organization or the process followed.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uline (Irving, TX) in Oct 2025

      Interview

I appreciate that this company prides itself on professionalism, but several red flags during the interview process suggested a culture that felt overly rigid and militant. I was contacted the day after submitting my online application, which initially seemed efficient and promising. However, before even meeting anyone, I was required to complete 4 assessments that took ~1.5 hours. When I arrived onsite, I was required to fill out a paper application as well as take 2 additional tests with a proctor before finally meeting with the recruiter. The interview itself was fairly standard, and I felt it went well and I genuinely believed I would be a strong fit. Despite investing roughly three hours of time between assessments and the onsite visit, I received a generic rejection email stating that due to high application volume, they could not provide individual feedback. For a company that emphasizes professionalism, this felt dismissive and unprofessional. I was also told there would be 3-4 additional rounds of interviews if I advanced. Overall, the process came across as unnecessarily impersonal and it felt like a visual screening to see if you would fit the mold leaving me with concerns about the company’s culture. The position is still posted on their career site as of today.

First a phone screen, online quiz, then on-site quizzes (on like number recognition -- think SKU numbers), everyone goes through the same quizzes regardless of position, lastly on-site interviews with two people

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Uline (Kenosha, WI) in Oct 2023

      Interview

You have to complete four assessments before the interview. One question asked, "Why do people buy things? One of the answers was "Keeping up with the Jones." I found this rather odd. They also make sure you know how to condense emails in a "Uline way of writing." At the interview site, you were brought into a room with other applicants and then were asked to complete a version of the Wonderlick test (this was administrated 2xs 4 min each). Typically, these tests call for more time, but they had their own shorter version. Next, you were brought into another room until you met with a recruiter. The recruiter said that they have to do these interviews every week. She did not seem too excited about it. Also, the dress code is strictly enforced for women, pantyhose skirts, dresses, and heals.
