I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Eden Prairie, MN) in May 2015
Interview
One phone screen, three in-person interviews, offer within two weeks of last interview. Initial screen review was with would-be peer, other interviews with directors. Probed past experience. There were many situational questions. Some white boarding
After the recruiter call I received a generic rejection email. No personalization or explanation was given. The initial recruiter call went well which made it a confusing experience. There was also no way to get in touch with the recruiter.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group
Interview
I recently went through a four-stage interview process for a Senior Software Engineer position at UHG. The process included a phone screen, two virtual interviews with technical and a final interview with a senior leader. The entire process was well-organized and gave me a good understanding of the company culture and expectations. The interviewers were knowledgeable and professional, and they provided clear feedback throughout the process.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2017
Interview
They start with a video interview where you answer a few basic HR questions. After that, someone from HR will follow up. You will soon start to understand what it means to work for UHG. Its a monstrous company. The role asked for someone with a "startup" mentality but everything I gathered from HR is that someone who has a startup mindset would hate working there. Too much red tape. If you like to drink the company kool aid and feel like someone pawn this is the place for you.
