I applied through the Indeed website initially and then though the company by the Department's Manager. I was asked very logistical questions and questions about dependency, leadership, and accountability. They were very easy questions.
Almost immediately into the interview I was asked how much I am looking for salary wise. Do anything to make them say a number first so you can negotiate better. There was an obvious concern about salary since I have experience and they simply were not able to change salary to commensurate with my experience. However, I feel that the Manger decided that my (over)qualifications puts me at a better chance for a "higher" salary so I was probably rejected just based off of that. I think it was very unprofessional for them to decide my candidacy based mostly on that.
