I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at VIPKid (Arlington, VA) in Oct 2015
Interview
I did a short Demo with a ppt from the curriculum and received feedback by email shortly after. I studied the Training Materials, did a 'practicum' with a VIPKID staff member to demonstrate an ability to time the lessons, and then was able to start teaching. The staff was courteous and helpful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the interview was focused on the demo lesson. If you have prepared this you will be fine.
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
