I was contacted for VMware about the open position, as they had my resume from a previous job application.
First were four phone screens. The first was with the recruiter, the second was with the hiring manager, the third and fourth were technical phone interviews with an NSX TAM and a core TAM.
Finally, I had an on-site interview with the hiring manager and two core TAMs, different from the ones that performed the phone screens.
The interview process was pretty straightforward, with questions asking for examples of work, times when I had to overcome obstacles, review my strengths and weaknesses, etc. They also asked me to prepare a presentation about "high level positioning" of the VMware products.
