I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Cincinnati, OH) in Sep 2016
Interview
The interview process was making a fairly long and thorough video, answering several questions, so you did not actually speak to anyone live. (You've got a glitch here: Your software tells me I can submit this description as-is, but then I get an error telling me I HAVE to add more words and I can't proceed without doing so, so here are my extra words.)
There was not one only exams that had to be passed to teach certain subjects. It is an AI test so it is set up like an interview. I really liked this process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If I fully understood the material I was teaching.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (University Park, MD) in Aug 2025
Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
