I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (New York, NY) in Oct 2014
Interview
The interview process was actually enjoyable. Review advanced topics if you have been out of school for awhile! I was not able to answer a calculus question but the other questions were basic math/science questions. They want to see that you are able to explain your answer. So even if you know how to solve a problem make sure you explain to them like you are talking to the child.

Question 1
I was asked a question about evaluating an integral. I did not know where to start.
There was not one only exams that had to be passed to teach certain subjects. It is an AI test so it is set up like an interview. I really liked this process.

Question 1
If I fully understood the material I was teaching.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
