I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (New York, NY) in Mar 2015
Interview
The first step in the process is a preliminary screening call to get to know the applicant. Then interview in which you are asked to work through problems in areas you claim to have expertise in. You are asked to explain your process for solving the problem and then explaining to others how to do it.
There was not one only exams that had to be passed to teach certain subjects. It is an AI test so it is set up like an interview. I really liked this process.

Question 1
If I fully understood the material I was teaching.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
