I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Virgin Active (London, England) in Nov 2017
Interview
There was a 15 minute initial telephone interview with the HR manager followed by two face to face interviews with the sales management team in the head office in Barbican. The interviews were quite informal and lasted about 45 minutes each.

Interview
I applied on a Friday and was offered an interview on Monday for the next day which surprised me, I took it.
I arrived and the receptionists were nice enough, was instructed to fill out a piece of paper with some basic questions. We were shown inside and instructed to wait with all the other candidates, shortly afterwards we were taken to an office where we had the first phase. Then came the group work, and later a short one to one interview. We were told that we would be contacted shortly about whether or not we were selected for the next stage of the process which would be an interview at either your chosen branch or another one. I was emailed the next day and told I would be contacted by my chosen branch however despite emails and calls nobody got back to me, so it seems if you are not selected they just ignore you which was not explained previously.

Hi there!
Thanks for your review and for coming along to the interviews. I'm really sorry you weren't contacted after your interview, we make every effort to ensure every candidate gets an outcome after the time they've spent with us, whether they are successful or not.
All the best,

Interview
I was invited to an interview by email and we just quickly arranged the appointment with the club manager. I came a little bit early, while I was waiting I was talking to the other staff, as I was really interested in the club itself.
My interview with the manager went very well. I was myself, we had a great chat. The manager kept asking me if I had any questions. I had, but now I know not the right ones. The manager let me know, he will have a couple of other interviews over the week and then will inform me, if he will invite me for another interview. I was very confident and felt I was amazing. On the next day I was informed by the recruitment team my application was unsuccessful. I was said and upset, but respected and trusted the manager’s decision and appreciated the quick response, it showed my time was valued. I was thinking a lot where did I fail, what did I say wrong. After going through on all possible scenarios I emailed to the manager. I thanked for the opportunity, and asked for a feedback. Within a very short time, he got back to me with a very friendly and useful response. This all on a Sunday evening, which also showed what kind of human being he was. Then I realised, on the the interview I was an amazing fitness professional, but not a sales person. The feedback helped me a lot to be better prepared for my next trials. That was my first interview for ages though. I am really grateful for the experience and feedback I got. I just regret the fact I lost my chance in my number one club.
