One of the worst candidate experiences I’ve ever had. Submitting the application was easy; thankfully the company uses SmartRecruiter for that. However, the next step involved having to answer 6 bland (250 word) pre-screening questions within a 48 hour window. From there, a 15-minute phone screen, 30 hiring manager interview, and finally a 60-minute panel interview and 30-minute case study. In hindsight, I’m almost certain the recruiters involved didn’t bother to read *anything* I wrote/submitted because I was asked the same questions during my phone screen, including my disclosure of being involved with another company’s HRLDP interview processes. I found this aspect irritating and blindsiding as a candidate. But I’m not surprised, though: many other reviews here have spoken to Visa’s embarrassingly lacklustre attitude towards the recruitment process. I’m glad I didn’t progress further if this is the shoddy, clueless, by-the-book culture I’d potentially have joined. Tip for the Early Careers Team/Recruitment leadership: Don’t waste the time of MBA/Masters students who are already balancing hectic work and study schedules. If you’re going to have the nerve to send a litany of interview questions with a 48-hour deadline and neglect to read responses carefully, at least give unsuccessful shortlisted candidates the dignity of rejection by phone call.
