      Manager, Technical Writing Interview

      Dec 27, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Walmart in Nov 2024

      Interview

After talking with six different folks over 1.5 months, one of the recruiters called to tell me that the team wanted to offer me the position. She said that she would follow up with details of the offer. A week went by with no contact. I reached out and was told to wait some more. Another week went by so I reached out again. It wasn't until three weeks had gone by until the recruiter finally called to give me the offer details. The offer was $40k lower than what the recruiter initially mentioned that they would offer for the position. I felt insulted and led on by the recruiter and the team. The team that I interviewed with was the Marketplace Learn (seller experience) team. I probably won't ever consider another opportunity with Walmart. It was a waste of time and effort. Luckily, I had another offer from their biggest competitor, so I declined on the spot and wished them well.
