      Senior Manager Interview

      Aug 17, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at WeWork (New York, NY)

      Interview

TLDR; ghosted without formal rejection 1. Recruiter phone screen - 15 mins: sales pitch and general info about WeWork, logistical questions about my job search and compensation 2. In person interview with hiring team (3 directors) - 1.5 hours: more sales pitch, no technical questions Received positive verbal feedback from hiring manager in person, but the recruiter never followed up with me. I requested updates 2x and was told to wait 2x. Now 5 weeks later, the recruiter has stopped responding to emails and to phone calls. I never received a system-generated rejection either. I certainly took the hint but do know they'll drop you without zero interest in relationship building and brand reputation.

      Interview

I've watched colleagues interview candidates for positions intended to be their direct manager. Not sure the logic in that - they were not interested in hiring someone more qualified than they were. I've also watched panels of "supervisors" with no subject matter expertise evaluate and dismiss qualified candidates because they weren't a "culture fit."

      Question 1

If I would mind attending mandatory Monday night "family dinners..." and working all the time.

      Senior Manager Interview

      Sep 19, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      North Bellmore, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WeWork (North Bellmore, NY) in Sep 2018

      Interview

The hiring process was very seamless. I was first contacted by a WeWork recruiter to set a date for an over the phone conversation. Once the date was set, the recruiter called me promptly. The conversation was to see my experience and to ensure that my work history lined up with the role I might interview for. After the initial phone conversation, I was setup for an over the phone conversation with the hiring Manager for the following week. After a lengthy phone call with the hiring manager to again discuss the role and what the expectations for the candidate would be, I was set up for an onsite interview/walkthrough for later in the week. The interview/onsite visit went well. Personally, It was great for me as a candidate to see what a day in the role would be like. It was also a great way for me to see where this role would support the other team members. I was then scheduled for a last interview with the team members. This interview was much more conversational and seemed it was geared to ensure that I would mesh well with the existing team. The recruiter reached out to me the following day, in which I was made a formal and accepted. I found the recruiter to be very professional and prompt. The WeWork team to be gracious and down to earth. The process took 2 weeks and was pulled together seamlessly.
