Applied online, spoke with recruiter and hiring manager and was given the assignment to do as the next qualifying step. I found the assignment all over the place, and it was up for interpretation along with the deliverable. I tried to show both strategic thinking, collaboration and specifics around metrics that I would measure. I would have expected to have an onsite to present since I was investing the time on this and I find these types of assignments are better done as round tables not stand alone deck. While they say we know you're not on the clock, it still took about 3 hours to do. After which I got a rejection without feedback. They are building out product marketing, have a new leader in place and she does not seem to know how to evaluate people well. They are not a product company so this is a new team.
