      Technical Sourcer Interview

      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Yelp's technical recruiting team is a hidden gem. Over the 4 week process from screen to onsite, I got to learn the team's unique advantages: a strong relationship with engineering and hiring managers, a small, highly effective team that operates more like a startup than a big company, great work/life balance, all made possible by a hardworking boss who looks after their team and carries great integrity and humor. I was referred to Yelp by a friend and within a couple of days the hiring manager reached out for a phone interview. We had a great chat and walked through concerns. The following week I moved forward with a call with a recruiter on the team. Shortly after the call, the hiring manager checked in to see how I thought the interview went, a really nice touch. After the two calls, I was invited to an onsite to speak with several members of the team. Everyone was prepared and excited to speak with me, and there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Everyone had a unique strength about them and a passion for the work they're doing. No offer was extended but the news was delivered with great sensitivity. From interacting with many recruiting teams from seed stage startups to IPO'ed companies in the Bay, Yelp's industry recruiting team really stood out to me in candidate experience, leadership, and awareness.
