Initial interview with an in-house recruiter
Cultural Interview
The technical round interview which involved
- Skill mapping exercise where I was asked what tools I've worked with and to rate my level of experience across infra, backend, frontend
- Code review exercise. I had about 10 minutes to review code for a small program and provide comments
- Pair programming & design (see question). The context given for the task was quite contrived, ie not a realistic scenario

Write/design an app that that converts imperial measurements to metric
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zai (Melbourne)
Interview
The interview process was right on the mark - not too long and not too breif, and good communication along the way. The first step was a coding challenge - which was quite fun to complete. In the next round I was interviewed by people I was actually going to be working with (ie, immediate team), and the questions were clear and didn't feel too much like a test or exam (as some interviews can feel like). Overall very positive.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zai (Melbourne) in May 2023
Interview
I had a great experience while interviewing with Zai. It was a 3 stage interview. First round was with the Talent team. Second with the hiring manager and a senior person of the team. Final interview was with the hiring manager and country GM.
