I want people to feel like they can come to me if they run into a problem in the lab. I don't want them to hide mistakes from me, I want them to feel like I will help them correct the mistake as soon as we can. I know that any mistake that they might make is a mistake that I've probably made in the past, and if they make the same mistake then I didn't do a good enough job teaching them initially. Less

I did fine on the interview. I just didn't know what i got myself into. After hire they will tell you that you have this many years of experience and you are supposed to know everything. Poor training and zero guidance. You will be expected to perform all QC Lab work as well as production, manufacturing, administrative and Quality Control Work. Very stressful. Less

The "I do, we do, you do" method where you just watch and listen as I explain the procedure. then next time we get your hands on the materials but with heavy guidance to build muscle memory, and then finally with you doing everything but with me there to offer guidance where needed. Less
