I applied online. I interviewed at vAuto (Austin, TX)
Interview
30 minute test with a paper and pencil (no computer). Had to work with linked lists and languages that did not apply to an iOS job. I didn't go to school for CS... so you should know that I won't know the answers to these questions. Why bother with asking me to come in and take this test? I make iOS apps, so ask me questions about that. In total I spent several hours there and it was a waste of my time. Their app was a UX nightmare and they asked what I would improve. I gave them lots of great advice and they didn't care.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at vAuto (Austin, TX) in Jan 2014
Interview
1) Recruiter Email
2) Recruiter Phone conversations (2-3)
3) Homework to write a function that does a particular manipulation with a string
4) Tech phone interview with Lead Developer
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All questions were standard and related to iOS technology. I would not call anything hard there. You either know answer or you do not.
