POSITION TITLE:

Health IT Data Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides advanced data engineering and analytics infrastructure support for IHSC IT modernization and enterprise data environments. This role designs, builds, configures, and maintains secure and reliable data pipelines, data structures, and integration workflows, including scripted development using tools such as Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT frameworks, that enable analytics, reporting, and operational insight across IHSC clinical, operational, and administrative domains. All development, configuration, and implementation activities performed by this role shall be conducted within authorized Government-managed platforms and environments, subject to Government oversight, direction, and approval, with written authorization from the COR or designated Government technical representative required prior to deployment to production environments.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and store data from multiple internal and external systems.
• Support enterprise analytics platforms by optimizing data models, schemas, and performance for reporting and dashboarding.
• Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of IHSC data assets.
• Support integration of healthcare, operational, and administrative data sources in alignment with enterprise data strategy.
• Collaborate with Data Strategists, Data Analysts, and Solution Developers to enable analytics use cases and reporting requirements.
• Maintain documentation for data architectures, pipelines, transformations, and dependencies.
• Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, auditability, and lineage tracking.
• Ensure data solutions comply with federal security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting data issues and supporting operational continuity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced experience with SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and data platforms.
• Understanding of healthcare or enterprise data environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

US Citizenship Required - Candidate will need to obtain a DoD Public Trust Clearance.
