Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department within a skilled nursing and long-term care setting. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, can effectively manage nursing staff, and is committed to maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Department
• Ensure nursing services are delivered in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and company policies
• Maintain the highest standards of quality resident care and clinical outcomes
• Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management
• Collaborate closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support facility goals and resident needs
• Monitor compliance, infection control practices, clinical documentation, and quality assurance initiatives
• Oversee staffing levels and ensure adequate clinical coverage at all times
• Promote a positive and professional work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care
• Participate in surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections as needed
• Address resident, family, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts
• Previous leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation preferred
• Strong understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage clinical operations, and maintain compliance standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing healthcare environment

Preferred Experience

• Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience preferred
• Experience with survey preparedness and quality improvement initiatives
• Strong background in staff development and team leadership

Compensation

• $70- $80/hr - based on experience and skill set
