Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator
Power Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a mechanical construction professional with experience in industrial HVAC, boiler systems, steam systems, chilled water systems, process piping, or mechanical equipment installations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating, preconstruction planning, customer engagement, and project execution support for mechanical projects throughout the industrial, institutional, manufacturing, and energy sectors.
We are looking for someone who can confidently evaluate opportunities, develop accurate estimates, manage customer expectations, and serve as a trusted technical resource throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Will Do
Estimating & Preconstruction
- Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical construction and equipment installation projects
- Develop budgets and proposals for boiler systems, chillers, steam systems, hot water systems, industrial HVAC systems, process piping, and mechanical room installations
- Review plans, specifications, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and contract documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and labor analyses
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities
- Develop complete project scopes, clarifications, and proposal narratives
- Participate in customer meetings, site walks, and pre-bid conferences
Project Management & Customer Support
- Support project execution teams following award
- Assist with project planning, procurement strategies, scheduling, and customer communications
- Serve as a technical resource for field personnel and project stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, engineering firms, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support change order development and project cost analysis when necessary
Business Development & Industry Leadership
- Help identify and pursue new project opportunities
- Build relationships with industrial facility owners, engineers, contractors, and consultants
- Represent Power Mechanical professionally within the marketplace
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to industrial mechanical systems

Minimum Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in mechanical estimating, project management, construction management, or mechanical system design
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction means and methods
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and equipment submittals
- Experience preparing estimates and proposals for mechanical projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Mechanical contracting experience
- Field experience as a pipefitter, mechanical foreman, superintendent, or project manager
- Experience with boilers, chillers, industrial HVAC, or process systems
- Experience in design-build and negotiated work environments
