Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Assistant Digital Creator & Web Designer to join our innovative team. In this part-time, weekend heavy role, you will be instrumental in assisting our in-house creative by crafting engaging digital content from events occurring at our catering facility, designing additions to our current website, and enhancing user experiences across various platforms. Your energy and passion for digital design will drive the development of captivating visuals, seamless interfaces, and impactful marketing materials that elevate our brand presence. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our marketing and development person to create engaging digital content, including motion graphics, animations, and visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and XD.
• Design and develop additions & changes to our existing website which is built on a squarespace platform with a focus on user interface (UI), user experience (UX), usability, and web accessibility standards utilizing HTML, CSS & squarespace.
• Implement interaction design principles to optimize user engagement through wireframing, prototyping with tools like Figma or InVision, and usability testing.
• Maintain and update existing websites by performing website maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues with PHP, MySQL databases, and front-end code.
• Conduct data analysis using Google Analytics 360, Adobe Analytics, and web analytics tools to assess website performance and inform design improvements.
• Develop SEO strategies to enhance website visibility and ensure content aligns with best practices for search engine optimization.
• Assist in digital marketing campaigns by creating email templates with Mailchimp or similar platforms and supporting email marketing initiatives.
• Be available nights & weekends when our catering events are happening.

Experience

• Proven experience in digital design, interaction design, motion graphics, and web development within a creative or marketing environment.
• Strong proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, and Adobe After Effects.
• Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/SASS), JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React, PHP, Node.js, AJAX, Bootstrap, squarespace and version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress or Drupal; experience with website maintenance and responsive web design is essential.
• Knowledge of usability principles, web accessibility standards (WCAG), information architecture, wireframing techniques using Balsamiq or Axure.
• Data analysis skills using Google Analytics 360 or Adobe Analytics to interpret user behavior insights for continuous improvement.
• Experience with user research methods to inform design decisions that enhance overall user experience.
