I have been working at BendBroadband full-time (More than a year)
I work in field services as an installer/premise technician. Progression and raises have a fluid path that are easy to obtain. The work is sometimes challenging, but doable.
Management is fair.
Pay is decent, but don't expect to support a family on it.
I started off at 13.75 and 18 months later I'm 15.73.
Average pay after three years of progression is $17.50
Pay is less than competitors. Benefits are not that great.
Advice to Management
Pay your employees what they're worth...
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BendBroadband (Bend, OR) in April 2008.
Responded to an ad on BendBroadband's website. Filled out the application and was contacted for an interview. I did not hear back for about a week. I called back and the response was, "Oh, so you want this job?" I replied yes, yes I do. At that point I was scheduled for an interview with a manager and his assistant. Interview went well. The manager let me know that he would schedule an interview between me and his boss, the vice president. The manager gave me advice on how to get through the interview with the VP. Example, VP would want to know my knowledge of BendBroadband's competition. I preformed well and received the position a week later. The overall interview was casual. Advice to others, If you display knowledge of the company and there competition you will have a great shot at employment.
I was not able to negotiate.
