I have been working at CalFirst full-time

    Pros

    learning about finance
talk to different prospects/industry everyday, learn how their business operates
get paid commission and bonuses on my deals

    Cons

On the phones all day, can't come and go like my previous outside sales job
Need to be a self starter to stay focused/motivated at times
transaction lead time can take months, even as long as a year to fund out
Provide free coffee, but don't have cream or sugar or even cups- why not?

    Advice to Management

Listen to ideas/ suggestions from the new salespeople too, you hire people with bright minds...might as well stop to hear what suggestions we have to increase business or what we think will help finding companies with projects. buy some cream& sugar. dont be cheap. good incentive givaway

    Interview

Got an email to arrange a phone interview. Most of the interview questions are asked through the phone so be prepared. After a phone interview, there is a 1-on-1 interview with 3 people: first you meet with the recruiter (the one that phone interviewed you) then the CCO, and finally the Finance Manager. Most questions are character questions when you meet the recruiter. Then the CCO asks to tell him about yourself and he tells you about his background working on wall street (like an ice breaker). Finance manager explains in great detail what type of work you will be doing and if this type of job suits you.
