I have been working at IvyMax part-time (Less than a year)
The center director is very professional and my supervisor is very nice and helpful. I am not Chinese nor American but I am treated with respect and dignity. Very professional. Since part-time I do not get much of a salary but still I like here since I can teach a bunch of really intelligent and smart students. This always keeps me polished with my knowledge and I really like it!
Its kind of new so need sometime to get on top of things, bonus for part-time faculty.
Advice to Management
A good marketing strategy is needed to attract more students.
I applied online. I interviewed at IvyMax in December 2015.
I showed up 20 minutes early for my interview and told the young girl at the desk my name and that I was there for an interview with a specific person. She looked confused and I thought maybe she didn't hear me. So I repeated myself. She then asked me to go into a small conference room and gave me a paper/ test to complete and said I had 15-20 minutes to complete. I then
Received a phone call from someone at Ivy Max and when I answered it was a female and she asked for my name and asked if I was coming to the interview at 1 p.m. and I said yes I am here now and she said Oh you are here okay and she hung up. A few minutes later, I see a lady peek at me through the conference window. I finished the test and waited 20 minutes before someone entered the room to take the test and I asked if the person was coming and she said yes someone will be talking to me soon. Then a lady came and left the door wide open sat down with my resume and asked me what position I was here to interview for I was thinking what do you mean I told her for the college counselor position as stated in my cover letter that I sent to the person that scheduled the interview the lady then said school is over I looked at her confused and said well there's always next year she been explained that the position is not available I was confused and I said well why wasn't I told that by the person who scheduled the interview. I then asked her what position did the person who scheduled my interview for today plan to interview me for. She did not respond and said your resume shows mostly counseling experience. I said to her I understand, but what position was I going to be interviewed for? She did not respond. I got frustrated and asked to speak to the person who scheduled the interview and asked if he was here, she said yes 'she' is here. I corrected her as her English was not very good. She just sat there. I got so frustrated and just left. I walked out and said out loud this is so unprofessional.
