“In order to build a successful team, you have to focus and invest in helping employees grow and realize their full potential early on.” Movable Ink CEO, Vivek Sharma, sat down with Bill McCloskey from Only Founders to share the 3 qualities that he looks for in creating a successful work culture.
"The coolest thing is that this role didn’t exist until they built it for me. It’s really exciting orchestrating and building out all of the training content for new hires and evolving onboarding and continued learning and development". Learn more about our culture here!
I have been working at Movable Ink full-time (More than 3 years)
If you want opportunity, you got it. The best feeling at a job is knowing your hard work is recognized. There is never a feeling of reluctance to take on a new project because you know if you do it well it will be recognized. More importantly, it will be critically examined. New initiatives and ideas that contribute to the overall workflow and environment are not just given lip service, they're evaluated and incorporated into the company culture if deemed worthy. Everyone gets equal time to contribute ideas if they want to be a larger part of the org. The trajectory of the company definitely aggressive but the senior leadership is very committed and consists of great people. The sales and product orgs specifically are on another level. I learn more each day here than months at other tech companies.
This is a mature company that wants to stay in the startup mindset. Move fast, fail quickly, disrupt the market and bring real and relevant results to the forefront. This is not a 9-5 (not even a 9-6).
Advice to Management
The product portion of the company is maturing steadily; once it hits a critical point it would be great to have a more long-term and transparent plan solidified for the product/company.
The company culture is already great but we’re already seeing more investment into it. Keep that up.
I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Movable Ink (New York, NY) in December 2017.
