Dr. Marvin R. Poston (1914-2002), co-founder of California Vision Services in 1955, now VSP Vision, was a visionary for optometry and mentor to many. In 1939, Dr. Poston was the first Black optometrist to graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry and despite many obstacles, he made sure he wasn’t the last. Dr. Poston's heart for helping people see continues to inspire VSP's mission to empower human potential through sight.
