Mission Array's mission is to transform quality behavioral care services through innovative applications of technology.
Description The Array clinical team started practicing telepsychiatry in 1999. Founding Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jim Varrell provided the nation’s first inpatient psychiatric commitment via telepsychiatry and has since been one of the nation’s top advocates for the appropriate use of telepsychiatry to increase access to care.
The team’s telepsychiatry service offerings quickly grew into new care settings and new states. The team operated under the name InSight Telepsychiatry and provided services as part of the CFG Health Network.
As that was happening, the Regroup Telehealth team formed and began to grow a significant scheduled care presence out of the Chicago area.
In 2019, InSight Telepsychiatry and Regroup Telehealth joined forces to form the largest telepsychiatry service clinician organization in the country.
In January 2021, the team launched under a new name, Array Behavioral Care.
In January 2023, Array secured its Series C funding from CVS Health who joined other investors including Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, Health Velocity Capital, Harbour Point Capital, HLM Venture Partners, OCA Ventures and OSF Healthcare.
In August 2023, Founding CEO Geoffrey Boyce stepped down and passed the torch onto Shannon Werb. Subsequently, a new Executive Team was also formed, including new Chief Medical Officer, Sara Gotheridge, Chief Financial Officer, Ben Schlang, and most recently, Chief Information Officer, Patrick Williamson.
Much has changed since that first telepsychiatry encounter reached a patient in need at a rural hospital. Today, telepsychiatry is increasingly the standard form of delivering care and Array is leading the charge in transforming access to modern behavioral health care.
Talkiatry is a national mental health practice that provides in-network psychiatry and therapy. We were co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist to solve the problems both groups face in accessing and providing the highest quality mental healthcare.
60% of adults in the U.S. with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated every year because care is inaccessible, while 45% of clinicians are out of network with insurers because reimbursement rates are low and paperwork is unduly burdensome.
With innovative technology and a human-centered philosophy, we provide patients with the care they need—and allow psychiatrists to focus on why they got into medicine.
We’re proud to be a Great Place to Work®-certified company. Want to transform psychiatry with us?
