Mission EFJohnson focuses on innovating, developing, and marketing the highest quality secure radio and communications solutions to police, fire-fighters, utilities, and the military to help them protect and save lives.
Description At EFJohnson, we make safe, simple. We help police, fire-fighters, utilities, and the military keep communities safe by providing the highest-value, most reliable communication solutions.

Our customers do not have time for complexities, static, or system failure. So we design systems and radios that are smarter and simpler.

The EFJohnson story began in 1923 in Waseca, Minnesota, when Edgar F. Johnson established E.F. Johnson Company. What began as a supplier of electronic components for amateurs and radio broadcasters, transitioned into the development and manufacturing of land-mobile radio products for public safety.

As the company grew, it relocated its headquarters to Irving, Texas, in 2004, and added a satellite office in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our ATLAS® and Viking® products are recognized as industry-leaders and used throughout the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and other international locations. The evolution of EFJohnson continued in 2014 with its acquisition by JVCKENWOOD Corporation.
