The EFJohnson story began in 1923 in Waseca, Minnesota, when Edgar F. Johnson established E.F. Johnson Company. What began as a supplier of electronic components for amateurs and radio broadcasters, transitioned into the development and manufacturing of land-mobile radio products for public safety.
As the company grew, it relocated its headquarters to Irving, Texas, in 2004, and added a satellite office in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our ATLAS® and Viking® products are recognized as industry-leaders and used throughout the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and other international locations. The evolution of EFJohnson continued in 2014 with its acquisition by JVCKENWOOD Corporation.
