Pros

A team new leaders in past few years staffed these areas with quality talent, and many were new to the bank. These teams work well together, and customers benefit from it. While some posts may knock these functional areas, these leaders created new and better teams. They led the bank to a better place. Complaints come often from people who were on improvement plans and simply venting versus taking ownership.

Cons

Resources for new or better ways to do things can take longer than planned. Other companies deal with that also. Some ineffective and displaced workers leave and make noise with false claims. Prior posts include those workers, so beware of those posts not being true.

Pros

Excellent company with long local history. Employees get along very well together, and there are opportunities for lateral moves among departments. Excellent 401k program!

Cons

In general, pay could be better. Marketing Department is under new leadership, although "leadership" may not be the right word. New CMO arrived mid-2016 and has proceeded to drive away all but one of his direct reports.

Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Excellent 401(k) plan.

Cons

I have noticed some posts from current and former staff members in leadership roles defending the organization and advising readers to treat negative reviews as rants from disgruntled former employees. All I can say is anyone considering an employer should beware of anyplace where leadership (former or current) goes out of its way to blame negative reviews on the reviewers instead of identifying and taking some semblance of ownership of the issues being brought forward. To cast reviewers' negative comments as merely noise from former employees who were on improvement plans and, therefore, already on their way out the door is utter deflection that is entirely unbecoming of anyone in a leadership role. Frankly, it says more about the caliber of those in management positions than it does anything else. Yes, people often rant on these types of sites. It takes leadership to look past the passion and identify the underlying issues. And it takes strong leadership to own up to those issues and address them. I know 1st Source is generally a good organization, and it's better than most. I felt privileged to work there. It is my hope that leadership takes the time to reflect on its shortcomings and implements the improvements needed that could make it a truly excellent place to work.
