Pros
The instructors and worker level people are great.
Cons
Management is a revolving door. Had 6 senior level managers in 3 years. Executive management are the worst kind of people, managing by emotion. When you are told to not look the President in the eye or you could be fired you immediately realize you are working for power hungry dictators and the bottom line is the only thing that counts. The company is a sinking ship being ran into the ground by people who had/have no concept of keeping up with the times and modernization of the company. Without all the big government contracts coming in this place will shut its doors within a year. Pay or promotion.., don’t even think about a pay raise or promotion unless you are drinking buddies with the President. You will be told you signed your contract and if you don’t like it there is the door. It doesn’t matter how much work they pile on you the expectation is to do what you’re told or you’ll be fired. Many people are working way outside of what they are paid for or their job description states. You will also get to deal with the multiple layoffs per year to lower overhead because they are hemorrhaging like an arterial bleed. Last but not least best case scenario is you are treated as a number and just do your job but more than likely you’ll be assigned “extra duties” that probably closely resemble what your managers had to do before being laid off. Avoid the company at all costs.

Pros
If you are only motivated by money, then this place is for you. But, be prepared for backstabbing, literally decisions made without a hint of understanding of ground truth and program managers saying, "I'm the alpha male, no one else is the alpha male, there is only one alpha male and I'm it..." Incompetence is beyond comical to the point of unbelievable. When Jason DeYonker cares nothing more than the bottomline it is an indicator for the culture of the organization.
Cons
Organization is solely motivated by money, period! Nothing more. Zero growth opportunities as a contractor. Program manager routinely lies, yes lies and is known as a lier. throughout the company and the client ranks. That he was employed with his pathological background clearly shows Constellis Group is solely motivated by money. Disrespects people and is known to do so routinely. Is allowed to do so cause of the contract is more important than Veteran employees. Does not take are of Veteran employees/contractors. Is not Veteran friendly. You are expected to bend over backwards for the company to fill billeting needs but little to no appreciation is given in return. You are used as a number and nothing more. DO NOT be fooled by false advertising. Constellis Group is 100% NOT Veteran friendly. Is known to verbally abuse employees. Scheduler does not return phone calls or emails.

Great Company, Bad Leadership
Sep 8, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Moyock, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I honestly loved working at ACADEMI. The people I worked with were great and i loved the work environment. I loved how busy we were consistently and how the job was challenging and demanding. The pay was decent and the benefits were great as long as you were a full time employee.
Cons
Wrong leadership. To many changes. To many layoffs and then rehires. One day one department has control over something and the next the whole policy has changed, they have new employees and a whole new department. A month later they will move it back to the old department and the new employees will be shuffled around or laid off. They did not value hard working employee's but valued people with pedigree's.

Pros
The company itself is really good, especially back in Moyock, but there is a disconnect between Moyock and Helmand Province. The project manager, site lead, ops manager are all about themselves. In fact it took HR from moyock to come down to look at the problems. It's a good ole boys network. The management is horrible actually in helmand province and they are not people oriented. The military also looks down upon the management making us all look bad, but again Academi itself back in the states is a good company, just sad people volunteer to go then get treated like 3rd country nationals.
Cons
Management is horrible. They treat the Armed guards as Trash.

Company must initiate cultural changes !
Apr 9, 2016 - Anonymous Employee in Moyock, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Salary and benefits are excellent and competitive within industry. Flexible work schedule. Coworkers were generally professional and easy to work with.
Cons
Management at the site and executive level were not trustworthy and were not loyal to their employees. Company continues to compromise ethics and lacks professional leadership. The parent company fired the majority of its directors aftervtge latest merger and replaced them with the incoming company management.
