    Pros

Met some real talented folks in the operations area, finance, and support staff. These people know their stuff very well and if you ask they will share with you knowledge and information about their area.

    Cons

Upper management was scary! Fighting and shouting pretty common. If you were in middle management you literally were stuck in the "middle' between factions. HR was of no help either as the person was a former office manager with little or limited HR background. They lose many talented folks which is costly in terms of recruiting fees, etc.

    Advice to Management

The company offered EAP...may I suggest upper management using it for therapy sessions in human relations?

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at ActivIdentity full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

laid back environment, overall great people who work there with the exception of management, good learning experience, innovative products

    Cons

no measures of accountability, lack of leadership and communication from management team, management badmouthing employees and blaming them for companywide problems, hard workers do not get awarded, products and processes are not well managed, owned by parent company who has no understanding of software business

    Advice to Management

Management needs to step up and address issues instead of blaming individuals for companywide problems. Need to focus on helping parent company understand the business so better decisions can be made. Need better HR department to manage talent management and acquisition. Need to get rid of old-timers who are too stubborn to change and adapt and dragging the company down.

    Cons

Too much turf control no promoting entrepreneurship ideas and actions.

    Advice to Management

Should use 360 degree feedback approach instead of do what I say type of management.

    Pros

Work in a market that is moving fast
    Much French culture
Some, but few, smart people (but not in management)

    Cons

    No career development
    Much French culture
    Mediocre to poor product
    30+ year "start-up"
Most of the best talent is has left

    Advice to Management

Too late now, but too much "power" within French led engineering. Accept for "Fortress" most of the products were buggy & incomplete. To much was sold before it was truly "enterprise" ready.

    Cons

Actividentity has implemented the wrong strategy. The multiple management changes took the company off course.
