I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions

    Pros

Overall, my exerperience with ADSI was great. I was motivated to work hard and drive results. Aside from being very accommodating, management highly values innovation, hard work and results. This creates an atmosphere of ownership for ones responsibilities and results and also a desire to contribute to the team, one where you can actually see how your contributions have a positive impact on the organization. Also, the...

    Pros

Decent salary and experienced engineers to learn from. Good exposure to integration directly with customers.

    Cons

Lack structure and process. Basic training is hard to catch on.

I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The only pro, at least that I could think of, is how fast you start to think of ways to get fired. If you consider reasonable pay in exchange for overly demanding work weeks a pro, then that could one I guess. However I was a contracted employee.

    Cons

As a contracted employee you will get two fifths of what the company is actually paying for you to be there. However, after day two, you will be expected to do the same amount of work as salaried employees because you are expected to be working 24/7 and absorb everything in a matter of a few hours. Management has no understanding of what work/life balance is. If you are looking for vacations, you are considered lazy....

    Advice to Management

Get actual managers who can delegate work and designate people who solely train new employees. Understand that the new hire is only getting a fraction of what you're paying for so don't expect the same as you would someone who's been there for a year or two. Your software and industry is extremely hard to learn, if you keep acting like you can just fire and hire then you will continue to be short staffed. People want...

I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There were none. That's all I can say. The rest of this section will just be used to meet the twenty word minimum.

    Cons

There are two positive reviews of ADSI on this site. and both are highly suspicious to me of being written by management. In reality, from an employee standpoint, this company is about as bad as it gets. Instead of reading these reviews and taking an honest look at how their business is conducted, management refuses to even entertain the idea that they might not be doing things perfectly and instead try to mislead potential...

I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of the reviews on here say that there are no "pros" to this job. Normally I'll take that with a grain of salt, as most former employees only post on sites like Glassdoor when they have something negative to say. However, in this case, I would completely agree. There isn't a single redeeming quality about this company or being employed by this company.

    Cons

Certain executive management staff take their position at this company as a license to verbally and mentally abuse their employees as much as possible. When people would quit or be fired, ownership would send out emails bragging about the firing or bragging about purposely making the former employee's life so miserable that they quit, and they would treat this as a motivational strategy. "Shape up and do things right...

    Advice to Management

You really have no business runnning a company. You need to either completely remove yourself from a management role or sell the company.

I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions

    Pros

None. Not a single one. The more I try to find one, the more obvious it is that there were none.

    Cons

How bad does a work environment have to be to have the company write fake reviews on this site trying to spin their "culture"? As someone who has been in this office day in and day out for years, I can tell you with 100% absolute certainty that there isn't a single person who has even the smallest feeling of warmth or loyalty to this company. Turnover is not just a problem here, it's an epidemic. It's so bad that management...

    Advice to Management

Why bother? Management thinks that they already know everything and that there isn't a single other person who has ever had a worthwhile thought in their entire lives, so leaving advice here is about as effective as shouting it into a pillow.

    Pros

ADSI actually has a really good product which is a huge benefit. Selling a quality product makes the job a lot easier. With a product that works as well as theirs does, they really should be a much larger company.

    Cons

The SHOULD be a larger company, but complete executive incompetence is keeping them from getting there. The idea of having a consistent business strategy is completely foreign to them. The only business strategy that they have ever known is to have knee-jerk reactions to issues that don't even exist. The best advice I have to be successful at this company is to learn how to stroke executive egos just long enough to...

    Advice to Management

You need to understand that your employees are people. They have lives. They have families. They have commitments outside the company. Just because you have made the choice to trade "sell" your participation in your kids lives for the next deal, doesn't mean that everyone else is willing to do the same, and not wanting to give up a relationship with your family isn't a sign of laziness.

I have been working at Advanced Distribution Solutions full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Close to home, commute from Fremont takes less than 10min. That is honestly the only positive thing I have to say.

    Cons

The list would take too long. The owners are some of the worst people you will ever meet. I was told that I needed to be more positive of working 70 hours per week or I would be let go. I was then quickly reminded my owner how hard it would be for a 50+ yr old to find a job right now in this economy. This company is breaking so many employer laws and the owners don't care. Care about your employees, actually be good people to those that work for you. Be more worried about what your employees and their feelings vs. your smoke breaks together in the parking lot.

    Cons

the entire company is a con. One word: miserable. you're a dollar sign, not a person, and the boss will scream at you for no reason other than some random whim entered his head that all of a sudden everyone in the company should have known about already

I worked at Advanced Distribution Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There were a few people who I enjoyed working with, however the majority of them were either at remote offices or on the road 75% of the time.

    Cons

Top level management relies on totalitarian authority accompanied by ever-changing business goals and non-existent communication. The one and only management style that is employed in the entire office is fear. Executive emails threatening mass termination were commonplace. I remember more than one sales meeting where sales management went around the room asking every single person whether or not they thought that...
