Lacks direction and strong leadership

Pros

The people (individual contributors) are amazing and super smart. They're passionate and really care about Airware's mission. The benefits are pretty standard in tech - 100% health, vision, and dental, 401k with no match, pre-tax commuter benefits, etc.

Cons

Management - the left side doesn't know what the right side is doing. After 2 layoffs in 6 months, the direction of the company has drastically changed many times over. They claim to be transparent but they are the least transparent company I've ever worked for. There is a huge disconnect between Product and Engineering, the leaders are more like figureheads. They don't take employee feedback into consideration (entire employee feedback surveys have been brushed over). JD's (CEO) idea of wartime is showing no appreciation towards his employees (thats if he even knows their name), layoff valuable talent and setting the standard that 10,11,12 hour work days are the status quo while he goes on lavish vacations. Airware acquired a french company Redbird and it was incredibly messy. The SF office has lunch and dinner catered everyday and the France office doesn't even have enough desks. Airware has to be one og the most sexist, close minded companies in tech. Woman have almost entirely left, they represent less than 10% of the company. The men are sexist pigs who openly say disgusting things, including telling others to "bl-w him" in a slack channel.

Pros

- Awesome product -- there is definitely product market fit for commercial drones - Really smart people - Get stuff done culture - Depending on what team you work for, Airware is an awesome opportunities.

Cons

- Very inexperienced leadership team -- CEO Is a first time CEO and it shows - Depending on what team you work on, Airware is awesome. There are some times that just have the wrong people leading them. - Cross-functional collaboration is poor - This could be a con depending on your personality -- very pessimistic + dry/sarcastic humor -- it's a very 'let's be vocal about everything that sucks about xyz' - Management is takes a very top-down approach. No one's opinion matters more than the CEOs regardless of the situation. There's a huge lack of trust in the organization. - CEO is a glorified project manager more so than a leader -- not a bad thing, just depends on your preference.
