I worked at Animas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Part of JNJ company, excellent benefits, company car

    Cons

frequent management change ( not always bad, but part of corporate world), lots of car travel time vs actual work time.

    Advice to Management

Overall great company- large JNJ umbrella, but small company feel.

I have been working at Animas full-time

    Pros

Great benefits- better than any place I have ever worked. Upper management (for the most part) seems to care about our well-being and growth.

    Cons

There is definite uncertainty when it comes to the longevity of insulin pump companies. This can be unsettling at times.

I worked at Animas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Almost all the people who worked there had a strong committment to the customer. They either had diabetes, knew someone with it, or was just passionate about the products and work produced.

    Cons

Managment that came in from J&J was largely disconnected from this focus and committment on the customer, and the way in which the Animas business worked. They didn't do much to improve the culture, integrate the culture - immerse themselves in what needed to be done to turn the company around.

    Advice to Management

Commit to a company by digging in and getting to know the customers and the people on a deep level - not just a superficial one.

I have been working at Animas full-time

    Pros

People good to work with and enjoy the environment

    Cons

No accountability, errors occur with little to no recourse.

    Advice to Management

Hold your managers accountable and you will see fewer issues. Put in qualified people not those with an internal connection.

I have been working at Animas full-time

    Pros

    None that are still true.

    Cons

Shaky future here. I advise against taking work for them if you value stability.

    Advice to Management

Should do a better job at trying to retain your top talent .

    I worked at Animas full-time

    Pros

No smoking on property in case you go outside to make phone call/lunch break. 1 mid shift a week which is convenient.

    Cons

Pay was not worth the work. Management was very poor and seemed to follow an assembly line basis with other managers and not care about the employees problems or interests. Extremely unfair by favoring certain employees, targeting specific employees, bullying, and talking down to them for doing nothing wrong but trying to do their best. I feel bad for a lot of hard workers there that have potential to go elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Start completely fresh with a brand new management team from the outside, in. Have CLEAR objective and mission statement. No wonder they're losing so many patients for doing poor business. Honestly don't know how they're in business compared to other competitors.

    I worked at Animas full-time

    Pros

Excellent code of ethics per the Johnson & Johnson Credo. Noble work with noble co-workers. Excellent benefits, flexible working hours, selling a product (insulin pumps) that truly improve people's lives. Everyone with whom I collaborated with over the years was a pleasure.

    Cons

Extremely competitive marketplace drives many short-notice changes and "fire drills". Must be available off-hours to some extent for customer service issues. Will involve some weekend work and overnight travel approx. 3 times yearly, which may not be a con.

I worked at Animas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits, great co-workers....

    Cons

Company has demonstrated instability in a market dominated by Medtronic Insulin pumps. Upper level management decided to terminate over 60 nurses used to troubleshoot the pump and manage customers experiencing high blood sugars. Nurses were replaced by laypeople with no medical background. Unfortunately Animas had built a reputation upon having nurses working the Help Desk.

    Advice to Management

Follow your own credo. There is a lack of integrity in practicing what you preach. Your sales reflected the widespread knowledge by customers that a nurse would answer the phone when they needed help. I(We heard from the patients on a daily basis).
